Career: Before being elected to the House of Representatives, Lesko worked as a Hearing Officer with the North Valley Justice Court. She also was a member of the Arizona Citizens Defense League, the first Vice President of the Arrowhead Republican Women's Club and Voter Registration Chairman with the Maricopa County Republican Party. Her political experience began when she became the Representative for the 12th district in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2009-2015. She also was apart of the Arizona State Senate from 2015-2018, and served as president pro tempore from 2017-2018.

Family: Married to Joe Lesko, together they have three children and two grandchildren.

Congresswomen Lesko won the Republican primary by a landslide receiving 77% of the vote. She won the general election against the democratic candidate, Hiral Tipirneni, 55% to 44%. Her experience in the Arizona Legislature gave her a good reputation that helped her throughout the election process.
The top three issues that Congresswomen Lesko ran her campaign on are; boarder security and national security, taxes and regulations, and education.

Debbie Lesko is a part of the Homeland Security Committee and the Judiciary Committee. She is the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security. Lesko is also apart of the Subcommittees on Boarder Security, Facilitation and Operations, on Immigration and Citizenship, and on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security.
Congresswomen Lesko has sponsored six bills in her short time in the House of Representatives. The bills that she has sponsored come from a large range of issues, including finance, abortions, Medicare and social security, boarder security, and education.

Congresswomen Lesko does not get much free time, but when she does, she spends it with her two chickens in her beautiful backyard. Until a recent attack by coyotes, Lesko owned 18 chickens.
Congresswomen Lesko's first marriage was very challenging, and was not a safe environment for her and her child. Lesko has become strong because of what she had to go through, and uses that experience to help others in similar situations.
